My Very First Blog Giveaway!!!

Where do you look for inspiration? Nature, art, architecture, blogs, magazines, books or maybe all of the above? There isn't a right or wrong answer to that question and the happy thing about it is that it differs for everyone. How fun! Awhile ago, I was given the book Where Women Create and have enjoyed every page of it...over and over and over again. The book highlights the creative workspaces of a variety of women - it's true eye candy and is inspirational on so many levels. Did you know that Jo Packham and Jenny Doh are releasing another book called Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration: In the Studio and Behind the Scenes with Extraordinary Women? (Insert squeal of delight here.) It's due out on April 5th - you can check it out for yourself and pre-order yours today here.

Where Women Create also has an awesome blog where you can lose yourself for hours, if you're not careful. Be sure to check out the WWC BLOG here, or click on their button in the lower part of my left sidebar to visit. They have put together a wonderful couple days in September called The Creative Connection. Crafters come together over a few days in Minneapolis to take classes and enjoy creativity...it's going to be on my calendar; how about yours?

I was ecstatic when Stampington announced that they were creating a quarterly magazine that would feature more creative spaces of women on a regular basis. I've purchased every issue since the first and frequent the pages for a quick creative fix or a peek into someone's studio...a mini vacation.

I'm happy to announce my very FIRST BLOG GIVEAWAY!!! One lucky reader will receive the Spring 2010 issue of Where Women Create (a $14.99 value)! I MUST share this creativity with you!!! Here's a sneak peek of one of my favorite articles in this issue (PAPER SOURCE!).....

My latest fav is Blue Jean Gourmet:
http://bluejeangourmet.wordpress.com/

She's sassy, funny and her recipes sing with possibility. After a long day at my potter's wheel I love to cook a savory feast, and serve it in my mica clay pottery. Often I'm cooking in my clay covered overalls, a la Blue Jean Gourmet.

There are so many inspiring women out there. Every day that I get a few minutes of "me" computer time I visit a blog and then visit one of their favs and then one of their's and I am always amazed and awed and inspired but I have to say that the one that inspired me the most and continues to inspire is my "first" - the first blog I ever visited and from there/her I discovered a whole new world of inspiration. Her name is Amy Powers and most fittingly her company name is Inspire Company and her website is www.inspireco.com. I would guess that if you were to contact most folks on her list of favorite blogs they would tell you that she inspired them to blog, she inspired them to start their business, that she was their "first" as well. Her life, her business, her blog has grown and changed over the years yet she has never ceased being real, being true and being inspiring. I once said to a friend that she (Amy) was the woman I wanted to be when I grew up - never mind that I'm old enough to be her mother! She is one of the inspiring women that built this oh so amazing and oh so inspiring community that means so much to all of us....OK I'll shut up now...honestly, I usually don't talk THIS much and I almost never post comments (usually cuz I can't remember passwords)but I just had to do this. P.S. I did become a "follower"

What a joy to find this blog today. And a contest... it doesn't get any better! Your blog is inspiring, and I have found that I am inspired, frequently by http://rebeccasower.typepad.com
Her devotions to "art" is inspirational to me, as she doesn't spend a small fortune to creat beautiful art. She uses things that speak to her, and therefore, speak to others. Her devotion to her faith, family, etc. is also inspiring to me. I use her list of other artists from her blog to help me, as well.

I just became a follower and would probably consider Amy Powers as my most inspirational blogger. I see that she has already been mentioned.

http://www.inspirecompany.com/

Amy is a person who has a lot of grace and loveliness inner beauty. She writes of her life, her family and her crafting, which is so charming. She often shares "how she does something" which I consider the mark of a generous blogger. Her color schemes are bright and happy and always make me smile. Right now she has many, many women who are doing a Stitchalong to her 39th birthday.

I also would like to be her when she grows up and, yes, I, too am old enough to be her mother.

Mu daughter and I just started blogger and hope you will visit.
